We generate income for the CIC through the sale of Water 4 Wellbeing services and merchandise, made by local artisans, who share our passion for cold-water dipping, wellbeing and community. As a not-for-profit organisation, all profits are re-invested straight back into the company to provide more people with the chance of improving and sustaining their health and wellbeing through open-water dipping.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are committed to connecting individuals with nature, promoting mindfulness, and fostering a sense of community. Our social prescription service offers a fully equipped introductory course of six to eight open-water dips. Supported introductions to existing local swimming and dipping groups follow, to cement and enhance community connections.
Founder: Nicky Edwards
Water 4 Wellbeing is founded by Nicky Edwards, an accomplished swimming coach, and wellbeing advocate with a passion for supporting others. Her personal swim journey started when she challenged herself to swim in 50 different open-water swim spots during her 50th year. Now, she enjoys dipping regularly, solo and with friends, in the beautiful Lake District. With over 10 years of open-water swimming experience, and a background as a primary school headteacher, our founder has spent years helping people navigate challenges, whether in water or life. Having personally experienced the benefits of cold-water immersion for stress relief and improved wellbeing, she now helps others to safely enjoy the transformative power of open-water dipping.
